Today, I want to introduce a quite famous and popular café, Black Star Pastry.

A clear single vision and traditional techniques drive this dedicated team and you can taste the hard work that goes into their food. What comes out from the kitchen is real, naturally beautiful and flavour is king. That is why Black Star Pastry can own majorities of royal fans and customers in Newtown which is a café distributing center and constantly develop temporary stores and branches around Sydney. Last month, it cooperated with N2, another quite famous ice-cream store to build up a temporary store in Sydney CBD.

The café itself has an eclectic vibe which feels instantly familiar. Fine coffee made from Little Marionette coffee beans, a DIY toast station, house-brewed iced tea in summer and fresh juices serve as perfect accompaniments to the glorious array of sweet and savoury offerings.

I have heard about it and its amazing watermelon cake since I came to Sydney. And I have been Newtown twice, but I did not try it for some reasons. It quietly makes me look forward to it. The first time I tried it is in my family friend’s 21st birthday party last Saturday. Strawberry watermelon cake is refreshing. Before tasting, its smell is Intoxicating. Watermelon with rose scented cream, strawberry, happy nuts and rose leaves tasted so rich and not too sweet. I knew why so many people were willing to wait for one hour to buy a piece of cake.

Besides the watermelon cake, there are sundry and special cakes, including Zen Cake, Lemon Myrtle Chiffon Cake, Amedei Chocolate and Hazelnut Torte, Orange Cake With Persian Fig and Vegan Chocolate Popcorn Cake.

So when you are going to hang out with you friends at weekend, I really suggest you have a wonderful breakfast as the beginning at Black Star Pastry for an interesting day.
