The Grounds of Alexandria

The Grounds of Alexandria is one of those places which is well known amongst Sydney. Located in the industrial area of Alexandria, this restaurant is located in an old pie factory. Here is where industrial define meets exposed bricks and lovely maintained gardens.

The Grounds of Alexandria is an extremely popular place not only on weekend but on weekdays too. This restaurant is a complete enterprise comprising of a café, a coffee roaster research facility, heirloom gardens with chickens, and a market on the weekends, with a petting zoo, and a flower shop.

The mix of people is intriguing. You will find girlfriends having a girl’s day out, and young families, and also whole generations coming together for Sunday lunch. This busy place is with people who want to surround themselves with beautiful things and who would like to share this space with like-minded people.

The 'Ground' Burger - ground beef brisket, cheese, lettuce, cornichon mayo served on a toasted brioche bun with beer battered fries $19. It was very simple, not overdone by various filling. Brioche bun toasted perfectly.

It is truly an inspiring place. No matter where you look you feel like things have been arranges with tender love and care. Every corner offers surprises to a point where even the market stalls are amazingly arranged.

Despite the queues and lack of flexibility from staff. I couldn’t help but love the photogenic slice of life which The Grounds of Alexandria severed up!
