Chill out on Saturday-Kasalong Thai Cuisine

Today I am going to introduce a very special place-Kasalong. It is a Thai cuisine restaurant. I went there with my host family having Christmas dinner. It is the first time I went there, however, I wish I could be there earlier. The current owner of this restaurant is my friend who is a very talented Thai chef, a lovely and friendly girl grown up in Chiang Mai. She learnt all the traditional cooking skills from her beloved mother and even some special dishes are inherited from her grandfather. Here you can experience not only traditional Thai food but also private designed cuisine from a talented Thai chef family. It's gonna be an wonderful and interesting taste journey. .
Different from the other restaurant, it's located on the second floor of a small building. If you didn't pay attention, it's easy for you to miss out.

Even though it has no attractive decoration outsider, as soon as getting into the second floor, you will be surprised by what it creative interior decor. It is definitely a high quality restaurant. No matter the original Thai style decor or the soft background music, it just make you feel like having a holiday in Thailand. Having these authentic and fabulous Thai food is like having a massage for your palette.

Because it is family Christmas dinner, my friend recommend the most special and season dished to us. They firstly serve a bottle of wine which is the best company with red meat.

The environment here is very pirvate and comfy. You can never find an other place better for family dinner.

I asked the manager of the restaurant to recommend some seafood dishes. Despite his professional hospitality attitude, his advice is just what I want . What I ordered is Cashew Nut and Chilli Jam.

The prows are very fresh and tender. The flavor of chilly with a little bit sour of lemon makes you think of the beautiful beach and palm trees in Thailand. My friend also recommend the Crying Tiger which is like BBQ marinated beef. However, all the ingredient here are 100% fresh and selected carefully to guarantee you have the best experience here. The texture of the beef is very soft. Every bite with a dip of wine, they are just amazing! This dish must become my regular routine from now on.

The most surprising thing in this restaurant is the dessert. I've never thought I could find such delicious and special dessert in a Thai restaurant. Thailand is an amazing country with various wonderful food!
These are what we ordered: mango sticky rice, flaming deep fried ice-cream with caramel sauce and taro pearls. Mango sticky rice is made of fresh Mango on top and the sticky rice cooked with coconut milk. Every spoon of sticky rice with half spoon of fresh mango while the aroma of coconut spread in your mouth, your palette can't be more satisfied. Taro pearls is minced taro with coconut milk as well. The most surprise one is the flaming ice-cream. When it was served up, all the girls were screaming. The sugarcane candy is flaming and the deep fried ice-cream is chilled on the bottom. Who can refuse such creative dessert?

I really enjoy this Christmas dinner with my Australia family and surprisedly found an unique authentic Thai eatery. If you are looking for some Thai food experience, I strongly recommend you here, not just because the owner is my friend but also because this is definitely a place you can't miss out in Sydney. The same with their slogan:
